Borim: Swami Vivekanand College of Commerce successfully inaugurated Krishi Mahotsav 2025: “शेतीचो सन्मान, तरणाट्यांक उर्बा” today, honoring farmers and inspiring youth toward sustainable agriculture. The event was graced by MLA Vijai Sardesai (Chief Guest), followed by Member Secretary Biodiversity Board Pradeep Sarmokadam, Padmashri Sanjay Anant Patil, and other dignitaries.
Krishi Mahotsav 2025: Celebrating the Spirit of Agriculture and Youth and sapling distribution symbolizing growth. Most of the dignitaries emphasized the importance of agriculture and youth participation.
The Mahotsav will feature workshops for two days 28-29th June 2025 and exhibitions and displays topromote farming innovation. The Mahotsav showcased collaborations with the Bori village Panchayat, Directorate of Agriculture, Panaji, Goa college of Agriculture, Green Army, Ponda, and the Biodiversity Management Committee, Bori underscoring community-driven efforts to revive Goa’s agricultural heritage. Workshops, exhibitions, and interactive sessions were announced to engage farmers and students alike. MLA and ex deputy chief minister, Vijai Sardesai applauded the initiative, stating, “Farmers are the backbone of our nation, and events like these reinforce our collective responsibility toward agrarian progress.”
Professor and Principal of the college Dr. Achut Pednekar highlighted the college’s commitment to bridging education and agriculture.
