Panaji: Six days has passed since the Revenue Intelligence Department (RID) raided and seized 100kg ketamine from an Industry located at Pissurlem; however the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has failed to take any action against the industry, which was run by BJP North Goa General secretary Vasudev Parab.
What is more interesting is that the IDC chairman BJP MLA Glen Ticlo and its managing director Narayan Gad have maintained compete silence over the entire episode, this exposing the affairs of the industrial corporation.
IDC itself is in trouble over the fact that it was in complete dark over illegal sub-leasing of the industrial shed by the owner to a non-Goan.
Despite repeated calls for almost entire day, Chairman remained unavailable for the comments, this proving the seriousness towards the issue.
“I am busy at the movement,” this has been the repeated answer of Gad, who was contacted on several occasions to understand the action initiated (if any) by the corporation.
RID as a part of pan-India action had raided M/s Vijay Industries and had found 100kg of ketamine, which was being manufactured at the site. As per IDC official records, 1200 sq mtrs plot was allotted to M/s Vijay Industries for production of mild steel and stainless steel (MS/ SS) fabrication. There is no record to state that the industry was sublet.
IDC latest regulations itself speaks that ‘No allottee is permitted to convey/transfer the leasehold rights of the plot allotted to it by either to a third party or such individuals or entities without the due approval of the Corporation’.
IDC’s negligence towards the entire controversy, raises several questions like was the Corporation aware about the illegal manufacturing of drug? Was there a nexus between Corporation and the company owner? Or the involvement of BJP functionary has restricted IDC from acting upon?
