Saligao: MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar has taken help of Google Map to support his claims how expansion of waste treatment plant at Saligao can be a disaster.
Posting the pictures from Google Maps, Salgaonkar wrote “This is the latest Google map of the saligao plant and one can clearly see the garbage lying inside and outside the plant. The government is lying to the people of Goa.
This is the state with 100 tons imagine what would 250+25%=300 tons do. Imagine the disaster destruction and degradation of environment.”
“Vigilant Saligaonkars Mario Venancio Cordeiro and Ashley Delaney visited the plant and clicked some eye opening pics No garbage is seen inside the Treatment plant but how Garbage RDF and MRF is stuffed in the sheds and outside in the open and can see the leachate flowing out and percolating in the ground poisoning the Ground water.”
