Colvale: The Goa Prison Authority has suspended a jail warden after a video of him celebrating with a history-sheeter went viral on social media.
The Prison Authority on Saturday suspended Jail Warden Laxman Padloskar, attached to the Central Jail, Colvale, after his video celebrating the bail granted to history-sheeter Amogh Naik surfaced on social media.
Superintendent of Police (Prisons) Sucheta Desai has confirmed the suspension, pending an inquiry against the jail officer.
The suspension comes two days after the Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court expressed serious concerns over the availability of mobile phones and contraband inside Colvale Central Jail in North Goa.
Padloskar was seen celebrating with Naik on the day the latter was granted bail by a local court in connection with a gang war reported in South Goa earlier last year.
