Interdepartmental Meeting Held to Address Key Issues in Goa’s Tourism Industry

Porvorim, 30 January 2025: An interdepartmental meeting was held today under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, at the Conference Hall, Mantralaya, Porvorim, to discuss challenges and collaborative solutions for Goa’s tourism sector. The meeting brought together key stakeholders from various departments to adopt a coordinated approach to addressing interdepartmental issues impacting tourism.

Attendees included Secretary Panchayat & Transport, Sanjay Goel, IAS; Secretary Tourism, Sanjeev Ahuja, IAS; Secretary Ports, Cheshta Yadav, IAS; SP North Goa, Akshat Kaushal, IPS; Secretary Industries, Suneel Anchipaka, IAS; Director Civil Aviation, S. T. Dessai; Director Tourism, Kedar Naik; Managing Director GTDC, Kuldeep Arolkar; Joint Secretary (Home), Tushar Harlankar; Under Secretary (Home – I), Manesh Hari Kedar; along with representatives from the Excise Department, Captain of Ports, Panchayat, the Travel & Tourism Association of Goa, MPA, and both Dabolim and Mopa International Airports, among others.

Discussions centered on streamlining administrative procedures, enhancing tourist facilities across departments, and improving the overall visitor experience in the state. Departments were asked to provide their inputs to facilitate effective decision-making and implementation.
