Diwar (Goa): The India Beach Fashion Week 2023 began on Monday at Diwar Island near Panaji with ace fashion designer Vikram Phadnis raising the curtain with his resort wear collection.
The ninth edition of this event would be held for three days at Diwar Island, which is named as Island of Love by the organizers.
The event began with Vikram Phadnis, who has designed clothes for celebrities like Naomi Campbell, Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi, Sushmita Sen, Malaika Arora and others, raised curtain on the event with the showcase of his resort wear collection on Monday.
In the evening, designer Srishti Kaur presented “Day One wraps up with Eliferous, a collaborative show” at the venue which has longest runway and the first sea-facing, unique ramps, open-air shows on the riverfront and in colonial style villas make it a fashion festival with a difference.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, co-founder of IBFW Pallav Ojha said “We target young and bold fashion enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, designers, content creators and artists, fresh graduates and early innovators.”
“Their vision and outlook, design aesthetics and technology can help build India’s biggest creative ecosystem with consumers and brand custodians who stand up for green space energy and a circular usage economy,” he added.
Deepak Chhabra, Managing Director, Timex Group India, said the IBFW provides the perfect platform for this bold community. “We are super excited to be a part of the IBFW. It will be a great place for us to empower the young and brave new designers of this era, staying abreast with the latest innovation, creative outlook and technologies in the fashion world,” he said.
Amongst the celebrities, Choreographer Terence Lewis participated in the event who has collaborated with the music album called “Royal Falcon”, which performed at the event.
