Panaji: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, during Zero Hour in the Goa Assembly, raised concerns over the long-pending cases of compassionate appointments in the state government and demanded an increase in the cap to deliver justice to affected families.
Alemao highlighted that more than 700 applications have been pending for over 5 to 8 years. The procedure needs urgent revision. The cap must be increased to ensure justice for families in distress. Its very purpose is to offer immediate financial relief to bereaved families: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.
He stressed that when a government employee dies in service, the family instantly loses its source of income.
But the government provides job relief only after 5 to 8 years. That is not compassion, it is procedural cruelty. The system must be revised to truly uphold the spirit of compassion and provide timely justice to suffering families: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.
