Panaji: Crime Branch has arrested Imran Khan, a known person from Curchorem-Sanvordem area for accepting matka bet. The Bombay High Court at Goa has banned matka gambling in the State.
The Crime Branch in their raid conducted at Tilamol market arrested Imran Khan, 35, and booked him under section 57/18 and 3 and 4 of Prevention of Gambling act. The accused is a resident of Rava Bhat, Shirvoi in Quepem taluka.
He was arrested while sorting out the gambling slips in a closed premises and was found with the cash of Rs 8,900.
