IMA member doctors to take care of COVID-19 positive home quarantined patients

Panaji: Indian Medical Association (IMA) has announced its association with Goa government to take care of asymptomatic COVID-19 positive patients who are allowed to be home quarantined.

IMA Goa Unit Chief Dr S Samuel said that the association will work the state government in taking care of asymptomatic patients who are suggested Home Quarantine on Public Private Partnership (PP) basis.

Samuel said that the IMA Goa will have access to dashboard which will have details of home isolated patients as per the state government records.

He said that the IMA has created a network of the doctors across the state which will attend to the patients during their need, after their home quarantine.

All the seven branches of the IMA including Margao, Mormugao, Bardez, Tiswadi, Bicholim, Ponda and CQS (Curchorem, Quepem, Sanguem) will be part of the project.

Samuel said that around 150 doctors have consented to give voluntary telephonic consultations to these home isolated patients.

 

He said that IMA Goa will produce a video which will help the patients to take care of themselves and also how to use pulse oxymetre, how to prepare hypochlorite solution and take care of the waste.
