From code to compassion — Dr Suborno Bose’s “AI with a Human Heart” vision moves from Kolkata to Goa

Goa, November 2025:
Here’s some seriously smart news for Goa’s students.
After being trusted by the Government of West Bengal to train high-schoolers in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Soft Skills across 50 government and government-aided schools, the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) now plans to bring the same free-of-cost AI learning initiative to Goa — for government, aided and private schools alike.

The Bengal rollout, under the Paschim Banga Samagra Shiksha Mission, combines hybrid lessons and hands-on learning through “AI Essentials & Soft Skills for Future Leaders.” Students dive into:

What AI really is (and isn’t)
How to design prompts and use Generative AI smartly
How AI links to sustainability and future careers
Why soft skills and empathy still matter most

Why Goa Makes Sense
“Goa has a creative and tech-savvy youth base,” Dr Bose said. “We don’t want AI to become a divide between schools or states. Our goal is to democratise AI literacy so that Goa’s students don’t just use AI — they lead with it.”
“Education Can Be Policy in Action”
Dr Suborno Bose, Chairman of IIHM and CEO of Indismart Group, calls the Bengal partnership “a moment of trust and responsibility.”

“This is more than a project — it’s an embodiment of trust. The faith the West Bengal Government placed in IIHM shows that institutions can shape policy by taking AI learning straight into classrooms. Goa is next — every student, every school, totally free.”
The Goa initiative will collaborate with the State Education Department and local school networks, led by Indismart Digital, as part of IIHM’s CSR mission AI for All – AI by India.

National Cred for Human-Centred AI
In October, The Economic Times named Dr Bose the AI Policy Leader of the Year 2025, applauding his mission to make AI both powerful and humane.
“I see this recognition not as a personal award but as validation that policy leadership can begin in classrooms and labs,” he said. “Responsible AI isn’t about coding ethics — it’s about embedding empathy into purpose so tech always serves people.”

NamAIste GPT: India’s Own AI for Hospitality
At the core of IIHM’s innovation story is NamAIste Hospitality GPT — the world’s first Generative AI engine built for the hospitality industry
Think of it as ChatGPT trained on real hotel data from 60 countries — a 24/7 mentor that helps students and professionals apply AI to make service smarter, greener and more human.
