Panaji: The upcoming International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 will feature a grand parade along the picturesque River Mandovi, showcasing the country’s rich film culture on the opening day of the festival, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said.
IFFI 2025 will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28, 2025, across different venues in Panaji.
Talking to reporters in Panaji on Tuesday, Sawant said that a special parade, including floats of film companies and other stakeholders, will be on display on November 20, the day the festival is inaugurated.
He said the parade will start near the Old Secretariat building in Panaji and will travel up to the Entertainment Society of Goa building, which is the venue for IFFI.
Sawant said that the inaugural function of the festival will be held in the ESG courtyard, which will have the capacity to accommodate 1,500 guests.
The Chief Minister on Tuesday reviewed the preparations for IFFI in Panaji, accompanied by officials from the Directorate of Film Festival and the Entertainment Society of Goa, the nodal agency hosting the event.
The 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) will open with a grand open-air inaugural ceremony featuring a spectacular parade of film production and state floats, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced on Monday.
The parade will move from the Old Secretariat to Kala Academy, showcasing 26 film-themed floats. The formal inaugural programme and red-carpet event will be held in front of the Old GMC building, which will be transformed into a special IFFI venue with seating arrangements for around 2,000–2,500 guests.
Sawant said the event will witness the participation of VIPs and celebrities, marking a festive start to the festival. The closing ceremony is scheduled to take place at the SPM Stadium.
