Panaji: Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa has said that his statements during a speech in a function held to inaugurate Naqueri-Betul panchayat building was “twisted.”
Talking to GNH Editor-in-Chief Rupesh Samant, Altone said that he was unnecessarily dragged into controversy after his speech in presence of chief minister Pramod Sawant.
I had categorically said “I have done so much of a development when I am in opposition, imagine how much development I would have done, was I in the ruling.”
The Quepem MLA said that he never said he wanted to be part of BJP led government but instead wanted to say that “if I was part of Congress led ruling……”
In yet another controversial statement, Altone had said “CM is looking at me… but we will see that later.”
Altone said that he meant to say that CM has been calling him for a meeting but he had not gone to meet the chief minister. “May be, he want to discuss about developmental work with me,” he said.
The Quepem MLA said that he will “never join BJP”. He said that he got elected on Congress ticket and will continue being in the party in future too.
