Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday commented that he has shown Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai what is real “goenkarponn.”
Sawant was reacting to the criticism by Sardesai Health Secretary’s statement that state cannot stop outsiders from taking vaccine in the state.
“Vijai Sardesai is ‘bekar’ and without any work.. He is still angry .. I have shown him what is real goenkarponn,” the chief minister said.
Sawant said that whatever decisions he has taken were with balanced viewpoints.
Talking about the covid negative certificate at the border, he said “If we stop everyone than grocery, medicine, oxygen would have stopped. We have to abide by Government of India guidelines, we are not different from rest of the country.”
“We requested the High Court to allow goans without certificate. How can we discriminate between Goans and non Goans.”
“I am still getting calls from the Goans who are stuck outside the state. They are not able to get the reports as labs are overburdened.”
“5,000 workers who work in pharma industry travel from across the border how can they get certificate every day.”
“It is easy to criticize. We have been working for the welfare of the state with a clear mind.”
