Panaji: Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar on Monday said that he had no intimation about any breakaway from the Congress legislature party.
Tawadkar told reporters on Monday morning outside the Assembly complex that he has not been informed anything about the development in the Congress legislature party.
“I have no intimation of whatever sort. I was in my office on Sunday preparing for the monsoon session of the Assembly,” the Speaker said.
He replied in negative when asked whether he has been informed about the change of Leader of Opposition by Congress Legislature Party.
Five MLAs from Congress had rebelled against the party on Sunday leaving its strength to mere six. The Congress Legislature Party has already resolved to remove Michael Lobo, who is amongst the rebels, from the post of Leader of Opposition.
