Panaji: In an apparent reference to the analytical story on our website, Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee President Pratima Coutinho has said that she was proud to take responsibility and give the undertaking about the health of Ghate.

RTI Activist Rajan Ghate had sat on eleven day long hunger strike at Azad Maidan demanding Restoration of Governance in the State. During the strike, District Collector Lavinson Martins had issued the order asking Ghate to be transferred to Goa Medical College and Hospital owing to his deteriorating health.

Goa News Hub had carried an analytical story on how Mahila Congress made maximum out of the strike and indulged in photo opportunities while the cause for which Ghate was sitting on hunger strike was not taken across Goa.

In an apparent clarification/justification to the news, Coutinho on Thursday circulated whatsapp message which mentions “M proud I took the responsibility and gave the undertaking about the health of Rajan Ghate as one of our Goan brother was sitting on a Hunger Strike for the betterment of Goa and Goans. I consider myself as 1 amongst d 15 lakhs citizens whom Rajan was representing. I am a Goan first so it’s my responsibility to stand with my Goan Brother and sister which I will always do.”
