Panaji: Amidst a post going viral on social media about Mahila Pradesh Congress Committee president Adv Pratima Coutinho joining BJP, the leader has rubbished any such move terming it as “false rumors”.
Coutinho and her team group photo along with Chief Minister Pramod Sawant went viral on social media on Sunday. The caption mentioned that Coutinho along with her team joined BJP in presence of Sawant and Port Minister Michael Lobo.
Chief Minister, Lobo and Coutinho were part of the 50th birthday celebration of Congress MLA Alexio Reginaldo on Saturday, last week. Coutinho said that post on social media is to tarnish her and her committee image.
She said that since yesterday she has been receiving hundreds of messages from her relatives, friends, party workers and well-wishers seeking clarification on the viral post. “So, today here I am sitting in Congress office to refute the rumors. I am very much part of congress and I will continue to be with congress party,” she said.
Coutinho said that people know her as Iron Lady of Congress, the image she would never let it down.
