Cuncolim: Hundreds of people blocked the National highway at Cuncolim and rushed towards the police station demanding arrest of social worker Shreya Dhargalkar for allegedly uttering disrespectful words against Shree Shantadurga Cuncolienkarin Temple and its committee members.
The Cuncolim market remained shut on Sunday demanding arrest of Dhargalkar while hundreds of people blocked the National Highway for some minutes.
The situation took different turn when police detained Dhargalkar and brought her in the police station from the backdoor. The locals rushed to the police station demanding that Dhargalkar be brought before them.
The situation remained tensed till Sunday afternoon.
