Hinterland and Medical tourism could be next big thing in Goa

Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed tourism department and Goa Tourism development corporation (GTDC) to look at developing and promoting hinterland and medical tourism in the State.

Speaking at the launch of Bungy Jumping activity and upgraded and renovated Mayem Lake boating site by tourism department and GTDC in association with Jumping Heights, on Tuesday.

Sawant said that tourism sector is presently the major economic activity of the State superseding mining and agriculture over a period of years.

He said that Government will make every effort to develop and boost tourism in the state.

Sawant directed GTDC and Tourism Department to develop hinterland tourism and Medical tourism along with beach tourism to give further boost to the sector.
