Panaji: With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting incessant rain to hit the costal state on Thursday, the State Education Department has announced one day holiday for the schools from first to twelfth standard.
Director of Education Shailesh Sinai Zingade in a circular issued on Wednesday has announced holiday for the schools up to twelfth standard on July 06.
“In view of the incessant rain and alert issued by the Indian Meteorological department’s Goa centre predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall over the State of Goa and keeping in mind the safety of young children in the schools, it is decided by the competent authority to declare holiday on 6th July 2023 from Std I to XII in the state of Goa,” the circular reads.
