Panaji: Goa Health department on Saturday issued order asking the activities including Casinos, Gyms, multiplexes to shut down their operations, temporarily, till March 31 in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak in the country.
State Health Director Jose A O D’Sa in an order issued on Saturday evening has asked all the Gymnasiums/cinema theatres/public swimming pools, both stand alone and in hotels/resorts etc. casinos, spa and massage parlours, river cruises, night clubs and multiplexes to shut down their operations.
The order will come into force from the intervening night of March 15-16 and will continue till March 31, 2020.
In yet another order, the health department has also ordered the public to avoid participating in or organizing mass gatherings/functions/events and festivals until March 31.
Earlier during the day, chief minister Pramod Sawant had announced temporary closure of all the schools and public places including casinos, swimming pools, and pubs in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak in the country, till March 31.
Sawant on Saturday chaired a high level meeting which was also participated by state health minister Vishwajit Rane.
After the meeting, Sawant announced slew of measures in the state to ensure that there is no outbreak of coronavirus in the state.
