Panaji: State health department has initiated inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of Rs 6.5 lakh which were siphoned off from the treasury of Goa medical college and hospital.
Health minister Vishwajit Rane said that the money was siphoned somewhere in the year 2016 but no proper inquiry was conducted into it. “There was a shoddy inquiry conducted which could not reach up to the logical conclusion. I have asked the matter to be reinvestigated through an inquiry committee,” he said.
Rane said that GMC Dean and the administrator who was posted at that time had not taken cognizance of the misappropriation. “I will co-related the salary and pension of the Dean till inquiry is completed,” he said.
