Verna: Goa police have arrested 34-year-old man for killing his friend after getting enraged over his act of taking him liquor bottle, which was left over during their party at Cortalim in South Goa.
Superintendent of Police (South) Sunita Sawant told reporters on Wednesday that Alex Coutinho (34) was arrested for killing his friend Lionel Lobo (32) to avenge his act of taking away left over liquor bottle after the party, a week back.
Sawant said that the body of Lionel was found at under construction site at Cortalim on Tuesday late night by the local police. The site is located under Verna police station jurisdiction.
She said that after initial investigation, police had zeroed in on the accused, who was seen partying at the site, hours before the dead body was found. During the interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime.
Sawant siad that the accused told the investigating officer that he was enraged as the victim had taken over the left over bottle of liquor after their party seven days back. On Tuesday night, when he came to the under construction site where they drink every day, he found victim sleeping after getting drunk.
The accused in a feat of anger went to the victim and hit his head with the cement block, Sawant said.
She said that the accused has been arrested under section 103 of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) for murder. “During the forensic examination, blood stains of the victim was found on the clothes of the accused and also blood was found in his nail,” the SP said.
