Panaji:Goa Bench of Bombay High Court has stayed the order of Vedanta Limited retrenching its 443 workers. The petition was filed before the Court by Sesa Goa Workers’ Union.
Advocate Suhas Naik who represented the workers before the HC said that on Friday, the hearing took place before the High Court of Bombay at Goa on the petition filed by Sesa Goa Workers’ Union, challenging the order of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, New Delhi allowing permission application filed by Vedanta Limited to retrench the services of 443 workers employed at Sonshi and Codli Mines of Vedanta Limited to take effect from October 05, 2022.
Naik said that after a lengthy hearing the High Court has stayed the operation of the order issued by the ministry. Naik along with Advocate Gaurish Agni represented the union.
