Panaji: The Bombay High Court at Goa today asked Corporation of City of Panaji to take clear stand on the footpath encroachment in four weeks and report back.
The division bench comprising Justices N M Jamdar and Prithviraj Chavan were hearing the contempt petition filed by social activist Kashinath Shetye in connection with the office set up by Maharaja Casino on footpath in Panaji city.
The court asked state authorities including CCP and Captain of Ports to hold meeting and discuss amongst themselves before deciding their stand on the footpath encroachment specially the one brought to notice by the petitioner.
“We direct Commissioner to look into the incident and proceed as per law and inform the outcome to this court on the next date of hearing,” the bench said.
Next hearing is fixed on July 23, 2018.
