Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that State government has filed a plea in High Court seeking its consent to vacate the stay on Shack policy imposed by National Green Tribunal (NGT)
Addressing media persons, Sawant said that Advocate General today filed plea in Bombay High Court at Goa to vacate NGT order. “We have asked for permission to implement the policy. We will also assure High Court that Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) will be finalized as per the deadline given by NGT,” he said.
NGT Principal Bench on September 13 stayed the enforcement of Beach Shack Policy 2019-22 pending finalization and submission of CZMP by the State to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). NGT has asked State to submit the plan by November 15.
