Panaji: Verna-based Greg Fernandes has shown the way for rest of the Goan youths by getting into mechanical farming, which is the need of the hour.
Agriculture minister Vijai Sardesai was personally present when Greg commissioned his mechanical rice transplantation machine at Verna. Others who were present on the occasion praised Greg for his initiative.
“When Goemkars become entrepreuners and service providers, the government will not only subsidise the machine but would provide maintenance support too,” Sardesai said.
“The Sons of soil getting into the farming activity should be encouraged and incentivized,” he said.
The agriculture in the state is witnessing new era under the leadership of Vijai Sardesai.
