Panaji: Goa government has sanctioned Rs 1.5823 crore for 800 farmers and deposited in the account of Sanjivani Sugar Factory as promised to them.
Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant Kavlekar said that balance amount would be disbursed tomorrow.
On January 01, Rs 64.40 lakh was disbursed to 315 farmers.
Also, for unharvested sugarcane Rs 3600 per Metric Tonnes was paid for 86 farmers in the last past amounting to Rs 80.17 lakhs.
Kavlekar said that the government is working towards making Sugar Factory functional as soon as possible.
