Govt launches online portal for job seekers and providers

Panaji: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today launched the National Career Service (NCS) portal, a government-run online job platform, wherein job seekers and job providers can interact directly.

Under the Digital India programme of the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, the State department launched the portal (www.ncs.gov.in).

The portal is linked to all the major national job portals such as monster.com. quikrjobs, saralrozgar.com, etc.

With a provision to apply nationwide job openings, State government can also post vacancies and carry out the selection process.

Launching the portal, Parrikar said that the key highlight of the system is that all the stakeholders in the employment ecosystem are brought on to a common platform which includes jobseekers, government departments, and employers in the private sector, skill providers, placement agencies, local service provider and counsellors.

Total 53 sectors with 3000 odd career options are currently available on the portal.

Minister for Labour and Employment Rohan Khaunte was also present.
