Govt, IT stakeholders brainstorm to formulate Goa AI Mission 2027

PANAJI: Goa government on Monday began brainstorming to formulate Goa Artificial Intelligence Mission 2027 which will be in lines with the PM Modi’s India AI Mission, CM Pramod Sawant said.

Addressing a press conference in presence of state Information Technology Minister Rohan khaunte on Monday evening, Sawant said that the state government has began a process to formulate Goa AI Mission, 2027.

He said that Goa AI Council will be announced shortly comprising of the government representatives and industry stakeholders to formulate the Goa AI Mission, 2027.
Sawant said that the aim of the Mission would be include AI in the government services through introductions like Chat Bot on WhatsApp for government services, inclusion of AI in the curriculum at the school level and also introduction of AI in Goa Start Up Policy and Goa Information Technology Policy.

Both the policies are already enforced in the state.
The chief minister said that besides AI, the innovation and Cyber Security will also be part of these policies which will govern the Information Technology sphere in the state.
Sawant said that on Monday, several industry stakeholders met near Panaji to decide a Roadmap for the state in IT sector.

“The roadmap has already been decided, you will start seeing the results in next six months,” the chief minister said.
He said that Goa is always known as Tourism state but in future, we want the coastal state, also to be known for its Start ups and Artificial Intelligence technology adoption.
State Information Technology Minister Rohan Khaunte said that Goa has always been known for its creativity.

Khaunte said that Goa wants to graduate to next step where Start Ups are getting opportunities to scale up.
“While we are already working to make Goa a Design Capital of the country, we are also talking about, Goa playing a major role in contributing to the National Mission for AI,” he said.

“The PM has already announced AI mission. Goa wants to be the first state to be ready for AI-era,” Khaunte added.
The minister said that the new AI mission will aim to also ensure brain drain from the state. “All the hundred per cent students passing out from the colleges should get employment. This is possible through AI mission,” he said.
