Panaji: Even as thousands of tourist taxis remained off road protesting against GoaMiles, the State government has refused to bow down.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is firm of his decision that the tourist taxis should either enrol  with GoaMiles or develop their own app-based system, which government is ready to support.

“In the interest of tourism, tourists and taxi operators, we are firm that they should either join GoaMiles or develop their own app, which will be supported and promoted by government,” Sawant told media persons.

He said that government through Info Tech Corporation Limited will help the taxi operators to build their own app, which they can use it for providing the service.

“We have not done any injustice. We have to move ahead with the technology,” he commented.
