Panaji: Priol MLA and former minister Govind Gaude has alleged that party functionaries failed to defend him against accusations related to the renovation of Kala Academy. He further claimed that one party member even contacted a media editor, encouraging continued criticism on the issue.
In a MEGA EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW to GNH, Gaude broke his silence on Kala Academy renovation issue, claiming that the accusation should be made on the PWD and Finance Department.
He said that he had specifically mentioned in a file that since Art and Culture Department does not have expertise to undertake the renovation work, it should be handed over the private agency.
“Right from selection of the contractor to blacklisting him, everything was done by the PWD,” the former minister said.
He went on to add that he went to defend his friend, without referring to the CM, that is why he got embroiled in the controversy.
Gaude said that the BJP never defended him on Kala Academy issue. “On the other hand, one of the Editor called me telling that senior party functionary had called him to instigate on Kala Academy issue,” he said.
The Priol MLA said that he had complained about it to the chief minister, but nothing happened.
Gaude said he will reveal the name of the editor and also party functionary at the right time.
