Panaji: Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude has said that in the past he had refrained from endorsing the financial institution which was inaugurated by disgraced bollywood actor Kapil Jhaveri in his constituency of Priol.
Gaude said that his picture which is being flashed on social media with Jhaveri, was of the time, when latter had visited him to invite for the inauguration of Tirumalla Tirupati Multistate cooperative credit society in Priol constituency.
The minister took on to social media to clarify his stand “My photo while exchanging pleasantries with Kapil Jhaveri is made viral on social media with malicious motive. The said person had sought an official appointment in May to invite me for the inauguration of a branch of Tirumalla Tirupati Multistate Cooperative Credit Society in my constituency. As a Minister for Cooperation, I refrain from any act of endorsement. I had refused the invitation on these grounds.”
