Panaji: The Governor of Smt. Mridula Sinha on the auspicious occasion of Onam has extended her best wishes to the people of Goa and in particular the Keralite Community in the State.
The Governor in her message says, Onam is an age old cultural festival of the people of Kerala which occupies a unique place in the cultural landscape of our Country. It is celebrated by the Keralites as well as others with considerable joy, peace, amity, and cordiality. The celebration of this festival continue to acquire special importance in the social and cultural life of the people, because people from various faiths participate with equal enthusiasm and joy. It is appropriate to mention here that the celebrations of our cultural festivals like Onam by the participation of people irrespective of their religious, regional and linguistic considerations, help in promoting social solidarity, cultural integration and national unity.
