Sanguem : As Tauktae cyclone badly affected entire Goa, Sanguem constituency has not been exemptional to this tragic situation. “With efforts by our various team, which has been formed at my personal level, over 70 trees that were fallen on roads and houses due to heavy winds and rain on May 15 and May 16 in various parts of my Sanguem constituency, have been cleared.” said MLA of Sanguem Prasad Gaonkar.
“Taking this opportunity I would like to bring to the notice that the government has failed to provide an independent fire station for Sanguem” lamented Goankar.
“I have been demanding with the government and also put forward a proposal for setting up a fire and emergency service station in Sanguem. But till date, the government has not shown any interest.” He added.
Currently, only the fire service station at Curchorem is there for Sanguem, Quepem and Dharbandora taluka and as a result the fire service personnel are not able to reach out for relief work. “Once again it is my humble appeal to the government to set up a fire station in Sanguem as soon as possible” requested Gaonkar .
