Mapusa: Mahaj Vinayak Porob, alongside Nishant Malgi of Thivim Dojo, achieved distinguished success at the prestigious Ashihara International Karate Tournament by securing gold medals in their respective competitive categories. Mahaj Vinayak Porob’s triumph, in particular, exemplifies extraordinary discipline, unwavering perseverance, and refined martial excellence, thereby bringing considerable honour to the local sporting fraternity and inspiring aspiring practitioners of the art.
The tournament was convened on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium, Navelim, Margao, Goa, and witnessed the participation of more than 350 students, including an international contingent from Sri Lanka, which significantly elevated the competitive calibre and global character of the event.
Both champions have undergone rigorous and methodical training under the esteemed guidance of Sensei Sandesh Kolikar, Black Belt 3rd Dan (IJKA), whose dedicated mentorship and technical acumen have been instrumental in cultivating their competitive proficiency and commendable achievements.
Their accomplishment stands as a testament to steadfast commitment, disciplined training, and the enduring spirit of martial arts excellence.
