Goa’s Women and Child Development Dept Wins SKOCH Gold Award 2025

Panaji: The Goa Department of Women and Child Development has won the prestigious SKOCH Gold Award 2025 for its efforts in “Improving Childhood Nutrition through Anganwadi Services.”

Women and Child Development Minister Vishwajit Rane on Wednesday said the recognition is a proud moment for Goa and reflects the state’s commitment to building a healthier and stronger generation.

This recognition is a testament to our unwavering efforts in ensuring that every child receives the right start in life through better nutrition and care, Rane posted on X.

He said the department’s initiatives align with the national mission of nurturing a healthier and empowered generation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The minister credited the achievement to Director Jyoti Desai and her team of Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs). Their tireless commitment has been instrumental in achieving this milestone, he said.

According to Rane, the award further strengthens the state’s resolve to build robust systems that promote child well-being, gender equality, and inclusive development in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
