Panaji: Goa government will amulate the concept like T-Hub and V-Hub prevailing in Telangana to have vibrancy in the Information Technology segment in next six months, State IT Minister Rohan Khaunte said.
Addressing mediapersons after the first IT Advisory Council meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Khaunte said that the state government intends to bring in vibrancy in the IT sector in next six months.
He said that the council discussed the issues of connectivity, infrastructure and talent for IT in Goa. “We have signed Memorandum of Understanding with state like Telangana wherein we can implement their concept like T-Hub, V-Hub for women empowerment and TASK (Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge),” Khaunte said.
The minister said that the state government has set up a time line from October till December to bring in vibrancy in the IT sector.
Khaunte said that the Chief Minister has expressed the need to develop Goa as a “Creative Capital” of the country, which will be aimed at through this segment. “We will be combining the product like Tech-Tourism as a part of IT,” he stated.
Khaunte said that the IT Advisory Council has formed a sub committee of industry and academicians which will work towards modifying the existing syllabus to make the college passed out students employable in the IT industry. He said that the students who have even done BA and BCom should find placement in the IT sector.
