Porvorim: Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar supported social service initiative will be building houses for the people affected due to landslide at Wayanad, Kerala.
During the ongoing monsoon session on Monday, Tawadkar said that his Balaram Charitable Trust will be working at Wayanad, Kerala along with 200 volunteers to construct houses in the landslide-affected areas. He said that the houses will be constructed under Shram Dham concept, which is currently implemented in the state.
As per Shram Dham concept, more than 20 houses are built at Canacona taluka by Balaram Charitable Trust helping needy families by crowdfunding.
Tawadkar appealed all the members of the House to contribute financially for the initiative in Kerala.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told the House that Goa’s chief secretary has already contacted his counterpart in Kerala informing that the former is ready to provide all the necessary help.
“We are yet to get any response from the Kerala but we are ready to help them with all the essentials,” he said.
