Goa woman found hanging in police outpost in Maharashtra
PUNE: A 29-year-old woman from Goa was found hanging inside the Yamnunagar police chowkey in Pimpri Chinchwad on Monday evening where she was called for recording the statement.
Police have withheld the name of the woman.
A senior police official said that the woman was brought to the police out post from Ahmednagar for recording her statement after she was found with a 14-year-old missing girl from Nigdi.
Police said that while giving the statement she asked an officer if she can use the washroom.
She was allowed to go, but when she did not return a personnel went to check on her. This is when she was found hanging from the iron bar in a small room adjacent to the washroom.”
The girl had met the woman in Goa where the former had gone to meet her relatives.
The woman also travelled from Goa to Nigdi to meet the girl and they both left Pune on April 12. Following this, the parents of the girl registered a missing complaint.
