Goa University choir to perform at NCPA’s 50th Anniversary celebrations in Mumbai

Panaji:  The Goa University Choir is all set to enthrall audience at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai tomorrow, November 28th2019 at the Opening gala concert for the golden jubilee celebration of the NCPA. The choir will be performing alongside the Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI). To mark the prodigious milestone of 50 years, India’s Premier Cultural Institution, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) announces its three-day multi-genre extravaganza, the ‘NCPA ADD ART FESTIVAL’ from 29th November 2019 – 1st December 2019

 

The Symphony Orchestra of India will present a gala concert celebrating the launch of the NCPA ADD ART Festival wherein Associate Music Director Zane Dalal will conduct the concert, featuring Music Director Marat Bisengaliev on violin. The programme will include popular choral classics, waltzes and much more. Choirs from around India including the Goa University Choir, Paranjoti Academy Chorus, The Bangalore Men, Living Voices and Giving Voice Society will join the SOI, as will dancers from the Abay Kazakh State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

 

Commenting on this special occasion Mr. Khushroo N. Suntook, Chairman NCPA said“We are proud to announce the NCPA ADD ART FESTIVAL celebrating the glorious 50 years of the NCPA. Each choir has made its unique mark on India’s vocal landscape, often going beyond borders of this country to be heard and appreciated on international platforms. All choirs with a total of about 100-120 singers will perform together to create an appealing and eclectic programme at the opening ceremony.
