Goa Tourism Rolls Out Immersive Experiences Ahead of World Tourism Day

In collaboration with TTAG, SKAL International Goa and Yuva Tourism Club Across Goa

Panjim, 15th September 2025 – In the run-up to World Tourism Day 2025 on 27th September, the Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), SKAL International Goa and the Yuva Tourism Clubs, has curated an extensive series of activities throughout September. The programme highlights Goa’s commitment to regenerative and experiential tourism by bringing to life its heritage, biodiversity, local communities, and culinary traditions.

Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte said that World Tourism Day celebrates the power of tourism to create positive change. By partnering with TTAG, SKAL and the Yuva Tourism Club, Goa is not only showcasing unique experiences but also nurturing a culture of responsible tourism among youth, who are the future Tourism Ambassadors. He emphasized that this positions Goa as a year-round destination for authentic, high-quality experiences.

Director of Tourism Kedar Naik added that the activities represent a holistic approach to tourism development. By combining heritage walks, nature trails, culinary sessions, inclusive cruises, and new initiatives, tourism in Goa is being shaped to be sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready. He highlighted that this collaborative effort enriches local communities while empowering the next generation.

Key Highlights of Experiences

  • Public Events: Bioluminescence Forest Walk (17th Sept), Cruise & Kayaking Trail (18th Sept), Picnic by Forest Stream at Folgar (19th Sept), Retracing Monte Santo Heritage Walk (20th Sept), Evening River Cruise Boat (21st Sept), Electric Cycle Tour at Chorao (21st Sept), Aguad Heritage Walk (21st Sept), Life of Pao – Bread Making (22nd Sept), Mulgao Folk Village & Coconut Farming Experience (24th Sept).

  • Youth Engagement via Yuva Tourism Club: Activities across schools and colleges including cycle tours, bread making, biodiversity walks at Carambolim Lake, and heritage experiences from 13th–25th September.

  • Culinary Competitions: IIHM Goa (17th–18th Sept) and IHM Goa (22nd–23rd Sept) showcasing Goa’s vibrant food culture.

  • Inclusive Tourism: Special Boat Cruise for Persons with Disabilities, senior citizens, and children from orphanages (26th Sept), and another for special children from Rotary on World Tourism Day (27th Sept).

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Goa’s largest Tourism Stakeholders’ Meet at Grand Hyatt (27th Sept), featuring the Vincent Ramos Scholarship and the launch of a MICE Tourism Promotion Bureau.

  • Closing Event: One-day Film Festival at ESG on 28th Sept showcasing Goa’s heritage, conservation, and sustainability.

The Department of Tourism invites the public, students, stakeholders, and visitors to actively participate and discover Goa through a fresh, meaningful lens as the state gears up for World Tourism Day 2025 celebrations.
