Panjim, 17th September 2025 – As part of the month-long celebrations leading up to World Tourism Day 2025, the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, in collaboration with the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), SKAL International Goa and the Yuva Tourism Club, organised two immersive activities for students: an Electric Cycle Tour at Chorao and a “Life of Pao” Bread-Making Experience at Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts and Science, Devorlim.

Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte said the aim of such activities is to engage the youth in authentic experiences and instill in them a sense of ownership towards Goa’s heritage, ecology, and traditions, aligning with the vision to make Goa a model for regenerative tourism.

Director of Tourism Kedar Naik added that these hands-on programmes go beyond excursions, serving as an educational journey that sensitises students to sustainability, local livelihoods, and community engagement. He expressed satisfaction at the enthusiastic participation from partner institutions under the Yuva Tourism Club.

These initiatives are part of Goa Tourism’s continued efforts to promote regenerative and experiential tourism, giving youth first-hand exposure to the state’s natural and cultural assets. By involving colleges and schools through the Yuva Tourism Club, the Department is building awareness on responsible travel practices while encouraging active community participation.

The Department will continue hosting a range of activities through September, culminating in special events and celebrations on World Tourism Day.
