Goa to send nurses for skill upgradation: Vishwajit Rane

Panaji: Goa government has proposed to upgrade the skills of nurses employed in its various facilities by sending them to different hospitals, considering their healthcare areas.

Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said addressing a function of nurses that they will also get an opportunity to upgrade their skills in respective areas as State government wants to send them for further training in different hospitals.

Rane said that the State government is already sending doctors abroad to get specialized training in certain areas. “In the same level, certain specialized staff and nurses needs to be trained for any other specialized care so that we can get the best out of these nurses,” he said.

The minister said that some nurses would be selected for specialized care like the one dealing with children, ICU, MICU and others.

“They need to be sent to different hospitals outside Goa for training in that healthcare,” he said.
