Panaji: Goa will be the first state to integrate allopathy and ayurveda to treat COVID-19 positive patients and those who are kept in quarantine, chief minister Pramod Sawant said.

Sawant told reporters on Thursday that state government has begun integrating allopathy and ayurveda to treat COVID-19 positive patients and also those who are quarantined in different facilities.

“Goa would be the first state to integrate these both the streams,” he said.

Sawant said that the ayurveda cannot cure COVID-19 but will certainly boost the immunity. The patients and quarantined people will be given guidance on how to use ayurveda to boost their immunity, he added.

The treatment will be given in consultation with the medical team which is treating the patients, he said.
