Panaji, Goa – September 16, 2025: The Goa Technology Association (GTA) successfully hosted the first edition of the GTA “Engineer of the Year” Award on Tuesday, 16th September 2025. The initiative received an overwhelming response from engineering colleges across the state.
This prestigious award recognised:
a) The topper (1st rank) of each department from every engineering college in Goa
b) A promising student from each college who has demonstrated exceptional excellence in technology and innovation.
Through this initiative, GTA celebrated Goa’s brightest engineering minds – relentless achievers and future tech leaders who are shaping tomorrow with their talent, creativity, and determination.
Speaking at the occasion, Mangirish Salelkar, President of GTA, said,
“This award is a tribute to engineers who form the backbone of the technology industry. It is our first year of these awards, and we intend to make this bigger and better every year. We also look forward to greater collaboration with academia, as we believe our engineers should give back to the ecosystem, mentor young talent, and help shape the future of Goa’s IT industry.”
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from engineering students, industry leaders, academicians, and technology professionals, making it a unique platform that connected innovation with inspiration.
With the successful launch of this award, GTA has set the stage for an annual tradition of honouring excellence in engineering and reinforcing its mission of building a stronger, future-ready technology ecosystem in Goa.
