Panaji: Goa should be getting ready for the second wave of COVID-19 which has been witnessed across some parts of the country, Dean Goa Medical College and Hospital Dr Shivanand Bandekar said.
Bandekar was speaking on an interview program “Hub Encounter” on www.goanewshub.com. The program is shot in association with Lucid Trails (www.lucidtrails.com).
The Dean said that the GMCH has set up state of the art facilities to treat the people who arrive here with the infection. But, he said. the covid appropriate behaviour should be adopted to save the second wave from hitting the state.
He said that the state government has decided to treat critical covid-19 patients at GMCH while others would be admitted at District Hospital in Margao. The Dean said that there is no dearth of ventilators and the treatment given at GMCH has been one of the best, which is evolved from the experience during pandemic situation.
