Goa police to file FIR against molestation tainted swimming coach

Panaji: Goa Police will file complaint against swimming coach Surajit Ganguly who has been accused of molesting a girl. 

The Goa Swimming Association on Wednesday terminated services of Ganguly after a video of he molesting a swimmer went viral. 

“We are yet to receive a formal complaint against the coach from the girl. But we have heard that she has already filed complaint with West Bengal police about the incident,” Mapusa Police Station in charge Kapil Nayak said. 

He said that West Bengal police will Forward the complaint to Goa counterpart after which the case of molestation would be filed against the coach. 

As per the copy of complaint available with pti, the swimmer has filed complaint with Rishra police station as after the incident the girl has left to West Bengal. 

Goa-based swimming coach has been sacked after a minor girl accused him of molesting her, a purported video of which went viral on social media, prompting Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju to also step in and promise stringent action.

Surajit Ganguly, a coach employed with the Goa Swimming Association (GSA), has been accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl who was training under him.
