Panaji: Goa police on Wednesday arrested two members of inter state gang involved in several house breaking thefts in the coastal state and other places including Delhi, a senior official said.
Goa police spokesman said that two accused Arman Khan (33, Gokulpuri, North East, Delhi) and Pawan Gaud (22, Bhiwandi, Maharashtra) were arrested for breaking into a house at Miramar on the outskirts of Panaji on July 2.
Police said that accused Arman Khan is wanted by police in several states including New Delhi in connection with more than 25 house breaking cases. The accused was part of inter state gang identified as “Raziya Gang,” the police spokesman said.
Panaji police had received complaint from a local lady residing at Miramar claiming that some unknown persons had broken into her apartment and decamped with valuable items and gold, all worth Rs 75,000 on July 2.
The team of police officials after checking the CCTV footage of the area suspected involvement of both the accused, who were living in a hotel at Colva in South Goa. “Both the accused were taken into custody and confessed of committing crime during the interrogation,” the spokesman said.
The accused also confessed that they have committed similar offence in the jurisdiction of Verna police station in south Goa.
The investigation was carried by Panaji Police Inspector Vijaykumar Chodankar, PSIs Amir Taral, Dipesh Shetkar, HC Nitin Gaonkar, Constables Ermiya Gaurayya, Minesh Naik, Vikas Naik, Pranay Naik under supervision of SDPO Sudesh Naik and SP Akshat Kaushal.
