Panaji: Two ministers in Dr Pramod Sawant led cabinet on Monday condemned the malicious campaign against the chief minister, accusing him of being involved in the land scams.

Addressing a press conference, ministers — Subhash Shirodkar (Water Resources Department) and Rohan Khaunte (Tourism) said that the team of all the ministers are united under the leadership of chief minister Pramod Sawant.

The press conference comes a day after CM Dr Pramod Sawant released a video statement rubbishing allegations made against him alleging his involvement in land conversions.
Sawant had said that the malicious video campaign has been run by some vested interests.
Talking to reporters on Monday, Shirodkar said that during his long standing career, he has witnessed the chief ministerial performances of Pratapsingh Rane to late Manohar Parrikar.
“I must say that CM Pramod Sawant is going a great work and has been instrumental in constituting Special Investigation Team (SIT) to stop the land grabs,” he said.

Shirodkar said that the SIT has arrested several people and has also booked 99 cases weeding out the racket which was converting the lands.

“Our united team of 12 ministers, led by CM Dr. Pramod Sawant, believes in the value of constructive criticism to drive progress. We will speak out against mega projects that harm Goa’s interests,” he said.

Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said that the videos that are being circulated are baseless and intending to malign the image of the CM.

“These videos lack credible evidence and are being shared by dissatisfied individuals, contributing to false accusations,” he said.
