Panaji: Goa government on Saturday announced the extension of State wide curfew till June 07 to break the chain of COVID-19 infections. Chief Minister’s Office made the announcement about the extension of the curfew through their twitter handle, while stating that the formal orders about it would be issued by the District Collectors.

“Government of Goa has decided to extend the curfew till 7 am of 7th June 2021. The orders regarding the same shall be issued by respective District Collectors,” the CMO tweeted on Saturday afternoon.
The corona virus inducted curfew was initially imposed from May 09 till May 24 but was later extended up to May 31.
This is the second extended given to the curfew period by the state government which is fighting back the covid positivity rate of 21 per cent.
State chief minister Pramod Sawant had told reporters on Friday evening that the positive rate has dropped to 21 (twenty one) per cent in the state but efforts are on to reduce it further.
State is also bracing up for the third wave of COVID-19, which is likely to affect the children.
The current order of the state-wide curfew has stated that all the shops will remain shut except those selling essential items, who can conduct business from 7 am to 1 pm.
The pharmacies and health related facilities remain unaffected with the curfew orders.
Restaurant kitchens can operate between 7 am to 7 pm during the curfew period.
